We reached the Arenal Hotel and cabins by driving westward from the Botanical Gardens, past the iguanas (and ice cream), and past the Hot Springs which we will visit later. Most meals were taken at the Hotel, but we had one dinner at the Kioro Restaurant, a short distance away. Here we saw some very large "dents" in the ground from car-sized rocks blown from the volcano (about ten miles away) many years ago. The volcano didn't do any erupting while we were there.
